"Prepaid booking cancelled on the checkin day"
I booked a weekend getaway 2 weeks ago, knowing there is a public holiday on Monday and places will get busy. On the day of my checkin, literally on my way to the hotel, I received an email from Zenhotels that my prepaid booking from 2 weeks ago is not available. Alternative hotel was offered to me with absolutely horrendous google reviews not even in the same price category. I don’t recommend this to anyone. Spare yourself the headache and book with serious accommodation providers. Zenhotels is not one of them.

This is a follow up to my complaint as zen hotels replied to my feedback and asked me to get in touch, which I did. AGAIN, no response! Booking number 230414211739631540.
Why bother to reply to my complaint and then not follow up? I have sent 7 emails which have been ignored.

"Don't book - cheap prices really are too good to be true"
Not confident in the legitimacy of this company. I should have known better, as this website came up as cheapest option for me for the hotel I wanted compared to the other reputable hotel sites.
I chose to 'pay now' to get the best price for my London hotel for May. I entered cc details, got a text saying debited the amount, and then the website said "no more rooms at this price please search again".
Very suspicious!

"Everything went smoothly!"
Booked a hotel for 4 nights in Interlaken Switzerland yesterday for the best price I could find. Cancelled the booking I made the same day at trip.com (booking.com was further more expensive) as they didn't price match. Emailed the hotel today to confirm the booking which they did!

I thought to leave a positive review of this company as typically people leave reviews when things go bad. In my case everything worked perfectly so the 5 star review. For those looking for stays try these people out as in most cases these guys have the better deals (10% saving over the next best rates in my case).

"Undisclosed fees"
I was charged a foreign transaction fee to my credit card (separate from the charge for the hotel) despite the fact that I am not even leaving the state I live in. Nowhere during booking or payment were these fees mentioned. Ridiculous!

"Want to destroy your vacation? Book with Zenhotels"
WARNING WARNING WARNING READ CAREFULLY AND SAVE YOUR MONEY AND HEALTH.
Don’t even try to book with zenhotels unless you want to get frustrated and angry and no one will help you and you will end up loosing your money and you will need to book a new room at the hotel since Zenhotel bookings don’t show at the hotel itself.
Called customer service while im checking in in reception when the hotel says that i dont have any booking in the system. The Zen customer service said we are working on it we will solve it within 1 hour. I called again 7 hour later sitting at the lobby with kids with bags, anyways the didnt solve the problem, i aked to talk to the manager, the answer was we don’t have this policy!!!!! I aked for cancellation and refund, they said the room you booked in non refundable (what a joke) the room i booked that doesn’t exist is non refundable hahahahah. Lost the money and booked a new room more expensive and i send an email asking for refund, no one answered me

"Be careful of bogus fees"
I was charged a foreign transaction fee for booking a hotel in Boston (I travelled from Ohio). The fees were not disclosed anywhere in the fine print. And when I called customer service, the representative said they there was nothing they could do to help and I would "have to wait to be contacted". Then he hung up. Save yourself the grief, and go with a better designed app - which is all other available. I will never use this app again. Period.

I contacted customer service multiple times with no response. You want to book through them? Make sure you don't have to make any changes, you will be simply ignored

"Denied hotel room"
For my wife I booked and paid for a room at the Radisson Red Miami Airport Hotel through Zenhotels. My wife arrived to check in and was denied a room citing there was a water problem. She was able to get the last room at a hotel next door but had to pay out of pocket. I contacted Zenhotels and they said they would call the hotel. No resolution and they stopped answering texts. I used my credit company to protest the charge. Zenhotels told them my wife checked in and out and that is a lie. Luckily she was one of 15 people denied a room and she can get some of them to substantiate her claim. I will never use this booking site again. Beware!

I recently used ZenHotels.com to book a hotel for my vacation and I was thoroughly impressed with the service. The website was easy to use and navigate, and the pricing was very competitive. I was able to find a great hotel in my desired location with all the amenities I needed. The customer service team was also very helpful when I had questions about my booking. Overall, I had a great experience with ZenHotels and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable hotel booking service.

"Dishonest company"
I booked with this site for the first time and it will be my last. Got sick.had to cancel. Did so in the appropriate amount of time. As long as I did it by 14:00 on March 17th. Called to see why my credit card got charged and had not received my refund...they said I cancelled on the 18th, which was a lie because It is cancelled at 900am on the 17th.

"Zen finally makes it right"
An honest review - Zen denied my claim for a refund for 8 months taking extraordinary steps to do so. However, they recently made things right after repeated bad reviews from me. I'm hopeful Zen will take some concrete steps to improve so I am changing my rating from 1 to 3 stars.
